The Punch Brothers return to Chicago for a single night at the Symphony Center in September.
What We Say
Punch Brothers, an acoustic quintet of mandolinist Chris Thile, guitarist Chris Eldridge, bassist Paul Kowert, banjoist Noam Pikelny and violinist Gabe Witcher, makes its Symphony Center debut. The group's latest album, The Phosphorescent Blues, produced by T Bone Burnett, offers the band's warmest, most emotive and elegantly melodic work to date. Says the Washington Post, "With enthusiasm and experimentation, Punch Brothers take bluegrass to its next evolutionary stage, drawing equal inspiration from the brain and the heart." Singer-songwriter Madison Cunningham opens the concert with a solo performance.
