Roky Erickson, known for his role as singer of 60s psych legends 13th Floor Elevators and a prolific and influential solo career, will perform an intimate show at Empty Bottle in September.
What We Say
We could not be more excited to announce the return of legendary psychedelic rock pioneer ROKY ERICKSON, especially on a beautiful late-summer evening. If you’re of the mindset that your Spotify playlist should start with 13th FLOOR ELEVATORS and end with THE ZOMBIES, you’ll be flipping your lid just like us to have MR. ERICKSON playing our stage for the first time in nearly five years. Bonnie, Larry, Nicole & the Kid are DEATH VALLEY GIRLS from parts unknown but reside in Echo Park, CA. Via telekinesis, portals and time travel, their new album Glow In The Dark was created and released last summer on Burger Records. Joining this already stellar lineup is Chicago's own STRYCHNINE, bringing their stripped down aesthetic that combines elements of glam, garage, surf and post punk, feeding as much off classic pop songwriting as they do psychedelic riffing and extended jamming. STRYCHNINE have been playing brand new material after years of inactivity. NOT TO BE MISSED.
Watch Erickson perform his classic "Two Headed Dog."
