Venerable Chicago music venue Schuba’s Tavern is building an upscale restaurant next door to the venue, which sits at Belmont and Southport.

Tied House is set to replace Harmony Grill, which closed in January, and is owned by Adam Thurston, who also co-owns the venue. Thurston partnered with others to purchase Schuba’s and Lincoln Hall in 2015.

Tied House hired former Longman & Eagle chef Matt Kerney to develop the restaurant’s menu, which aims to serve elevated cuisine that the neighborhood typically lacks.

The restaurant will be connected to the historic Schuba’s building, and will be two levels with outdoor seating available in a massive courtyard, according to Eater.

Beginning in September, Schuba’s will being to unveil menu items from Tied House at their bar, giving regulars a sneak peek at the much-anticipated restaurant.
