Thanks to high profile protests by facebook and wikipedia, the great SOPA debate ignited passions towards Congress like few other issues. Maybe the public's true thoughts of online piracy were a motivator, but it didn't hurt that movers and shakers behind the Internet spawned Congress to go back to the drawing board.
What emerged is CISPA, a more corporate friendly alternative, that remains a threat to the average Internet user's privacy and continues the test the limits of expression and fair use over the Internet, including much of what is featured at The Barn and other blogs that we love.
