Who Listens To Internet Radio? [Graph]

No surprise here... young people.

This is a graph put together from a study conducted via a partnership between musicbiz.org and Audiencenet and their Audiomonitor research platform.

We've always advocated on-demand streaming (e.g. Spotify) over "radio platforms" that are being measured here (Pandora, iHeartRadio, iTunes Radio), but it's clear that teens either see "curated" radio as a complement to such services.

There may be more options to hear whatever you want, whenever you want, than ever before.  But you have to wonder... with all of this choice, do young people even care.  Seems like many of them still would rather be told what to listen to.

I also attribute the steep drop-off to 50+ year olds to a lack of technology comfort and awareness but didn't expect it to be that dramatic.

One more note, I expect designers to use cute graphics and icons to present data like this... but with a clear message being told via the data, you'd think they could at least make the visuals represent the data a little closer.  They promise more graphs like this, but here's hoping they improve.
