Summary

Two guitar masters, seemingly from different worlds -- Julian Lage a renown jazz virtuoso, and Chris Eldridge an equally talented bluegrass picker, come together for a night of American roots music that showcases their immense talents. Armed with just acoustic guitars Lage and Eldridge weave together lines effortlessly and often make it difficult to tell who’s playing rhythm or lead. Eldridge’s twangy voice shines through and is complimented by Lage’s equally vocal guitar playing. For just two guys they make an awfully big sound. Like Eldridge’s group, Punch Brothers, this is roots music, but with a progressive, modern twist. They have a brand new album, Mount Royal, coming out on Feburary 24th.

What They Say

Old Town School should provide an attentive audience for this acoustic, yet complex, music.

What We Say

Mount Royal, the second collaborative album by the world-class acoustic guitarists, marks a substantial leap forward for these two young instrumental visionaries, whose diverse musical backgrounds inform their uncanny musical chemistry and organic creative rapport.
