There are plenty of supergroups in town this weekend. Here's one that had a decidedly New Orleans flavor.
This band featured Ivan Neville, Papa Mali, Tony Hall, Willie Green and Marc 'Buddha' Balsam.
The were on fiya all night, playing a mix of Dead tunes ("Mr Charlie", "Turn On Your Love Light", "Shakedown Street") as well as some classic Bayou flavored tunes.
Things undoubtedly will get weirder in Chicago over the weekend, but one highlight was when Big Chief Monk Boudreaux took to the stage in full Mardi Gras parade attire. A beautiful site that takes you to another space.
The crowd was ready to march down Clark Street all the way to Soldier Field.
