The Pink Floyd Mystery Jam: Can You Identify It?

The Barn's Pink Floyd Week marches on.  Just for fun, we're offering a mystery recording to see if music fans can identify where it comes from just by listening.  I think the answer will surprise you.

This recording was not Pink Floyd at all -- it was none other than the good ole Grateful Dead (or at least Brent and a few other members... it's not immediately clear who else is on this recording) taken from a rehearsal in 1983!

I was immediately reminded of mid-70's, Wish You Were Here era Floyd when I heard this and couldn't help but remark how little of this sound actually made it to the Dead's stage in '83. Lots of interesting sounds from Brent.  I guess we can just listen to this entire rehearsal (via archive.org) and imagine what might have been.[/toggle]
