In the early 60s,  a bunch of young, middle-class musicians who were interested in the Blues, quietly slipped into clubs on the South and West sides of Chicago to learn from the masters: Howlin' Wolf, Muddy Waters, Little Walter and others.

The youngsters studied their heroes, practiced and then brought the Blues to new audiences on the North side.

That group included Barry Goldberg, Nick Gravenites and Harvey Mandel.

Friday night, 50 plus years later, they got together to play The Arcada Theater in St Charles as The Chicago Blues Reunion. Joining them were, Rob Stone, Sugar Blue, Ilaria Lantieri, Gary Mallaber and Rick Reed.

It was a night of classics, friendship and reunion in a wonderful room outside the city that inspired it all.
