I’m trying a bunch of new things on the blog lately. So in that spirit, I’m moving away from the traditional weekly link roundup and towards a more anyday / anytime format. So goodbye Friday Linkafication, and hello to 5 Great Links – a combination of web destinations and videos that I think are worthy of a click. My goal is to spotlight material relevant to our local music scene, articles that make you think or pieces that are generally underexposed. Your tips are always welcome. I’ll save these up, and when I reach five great ones, I’ll put up a post – simple as that. Enjoy the first edition:
1. I've been sitting on this for a little while, but if you've got seven free hours, check out this looong jam from the All Tomorrow's Parties festival (NPR)
2. Win tickets to see Deer Tick at Reggie's courtesy of Brooklyn Vegan Chicago
3. A mathematician tries to create the world's ugliest music. (TED Talk)
4. Sit-in alert! Local jamgrass stalwarts Cornmeal team with the legendary Bela Fleck
