TAUK has a full length coming later in the year, but is touring behind an excellent EP, Shapeshifter I: Construct.
Chicago fans may be familiar due to association with (and side projects containing members of) Umphrey's McGee. And a few more may have become aquainted on Friday as they headlined the big room at Concord with a few local products. EGi and Steady Flow opened the evening.
Hell, they even took the stage to the same Alan Parsons Project jam used to intro the Chicago Bulls, but there was still room for two big sets of TAUK's instrumental jams. There is just something irrestible about the way they blend rock heaviness with a jazz improv and some interesting beats that verge on dance music.
YouTuber IZEoftheWorld captured both full sets.
