Blues in the desert? Bisbee, Arizona hosted it’s 12th Annual Blues Festival this year at the Bisbee Royale and City Park in Brewery Gulch.
The three day event kicked off on Friday night with a special performance featuring The Blues Wizard, the T.S. Henry Webb & Scott Muhlman duo, and LIttle Sugar at the Bisbee Royale.
On Saturday, Jarekus Singleton provided the headlining fire-power and provided the event's highlight: a jam with fellow Mississippian Cedric Burnside pounding drums behind his searing guitar. Burnside's own band, The Cedric Burnshde Project, The Betty Fox Band, and Train Wreck provided plenty of highlights of their own in support.
For the third year, Sunday was reserved for the Blues Village, "a family-oriented event with live music and educational workshops that are working develop a support system for music education in Bisbee".
The dates have already been released for next year's event (September 8th, 9th, and 10th, 2017) with the initial line-up to be announced on November 1st.
