Nothing like some good ol' foundation-shaking funk music in your ears. But there is always plenty to see... well experience... when George Clinton and Parliament-Funkadelic are supplying it.
That's why we're glad that Nunu was on hand to capture loads of eye-popping images and video from their second stop at Chicago's Thalia Hall in as many winters.
What a room for this band! Intimate, yet with a stage big enough to house the whole damn crew -- a nonstop procession of musicians, dancers, singers and personalities that Clinton's bands have been synonymous with for decades.
And the man himself -- larger than life with an exciting magnetism that does not yield even at 76 years old -- as always holds the enterprise together. Looking less like a psychedelic space warrior these days but certainly not denying that role, you'd be hard-pressed to find a funkier septuagenarian.
And Nunu was everywhere that night, capturing these three videos as well as action from the stage, the crowd, the balcony, behind the curtain (candid and portrait). Check out his 39 shots and click on the thumbnails to get a closer look.
