FitzGerald’s was packed with fans who came out to pay respects for the late Lonnie Brooks, who passed away April 1st at the age of 83, and love for his son and fellow guitarist Ronnie Baker Brooks.
Ronnie gave the love right back in an emotion-packed two set performance on Friday night.
Lonnie told Ronnie that if anything happened to him, he wants Ronnie to carry on with his shows, to keep the blues alive.
So, although his daddy passed just a week earlier, Ronnie took the stage along with his brother Wayne, and together they let their loss and pain speak through their guitars.
There were tears on and off the stage.
