After a four month hibernation, we are getting ready to bring you The Barn 2.0.
Wait. What?!?
We launched The Barn (1.0) at about this time last year with a mission to produce and promote high quality live music events for adults in Chicago’s Western Suburbs. Five events into our enterprise, we decided to pause and evaluate how far we’ve come and where we’d like to go.
The Barn 2.0 is really just a slight tweak to this formula. Our focus, of course, remains on the music – Live and Local. But we do want to broaden our scope to include all of the great music that is inspiring us, not just the shows that we are involved with. While we may ramp down the number of shows that we produce (booking the bands ourselves, selling tickets, guaranteeing our audience highest quality production values), we should see a dramatic increase in the shows that we promote. By partnering with a number of venues and bands within our West Suburban epicenter, we want to create “Spotlight Shows” that represent the best of what is playing out by us these days.
This means new content to discuss, more frequent communications and a renewed focus on all the music that inspires us. It will allow us to continue to build the community of live music lovers in Chicago’s Western Suburbs – while leaving the door open for music lovers around the world to join us and interact with interesting and innovative web content. We’ll include the same original long form articles, reviews, lists and interviews from 1.0 in addition to new 2.0 features like showcasing the coolest news and content from elsewhere on the web, ramping up the amount of streaming and downloadable music that we offer, and introducing new features that allow music lovers to connect with each other and their favorite artists in ways that bring them closer to the music.
2.0 is on its way but it will come gradually. Expect some changes to the layout and usability of tomorrowsverse.com that coincides with this new vision. So, bookmark our site, add us to your Reader, friend us on Facebook and tell your friends. The Barn is back!
