Stonehouse Park came under quite a bit of fire regarding noise and crowds in the festival off-season. While the Dekalb county park will see the addition of Camp Terrapin come, Barefoot Fred Productions think they've found an even better location for their mid-July Whippersnap Music and Arts Festival.
For 2012, Whippersnap moves to Lyran Park in Rockford, transferring locations, but promising not to alter the spirit of the fest in its second year.
They could probably hold this fest on the far-side of the moon, we'd still be excited about the addition of Greensky Bluegrass who blew us away at the Park West in January, and will now get a chance to bring the heat outdoors.
Likewise, Digital Tape Machine contains an all star lineup that includes members of both Umphrey's McGee and Strange Arrangement, two bands that we've covered extensively (now if we could only get Strange on the bill).
They join Railroad Earth, funky Meters, Particle and loads of other Barn approved bands from Chicago and across the midwest on July 19 - 21.
