The legendary Sam Bush usually makes his way through town a couple times a year. While the ideal setting to see him is a festival, a rare "second best" option is at a rock club. In this visit from last winter, he found his way to a huge new music complex in Suburban Worth. Bush drops some extra oomph into covers of "Whipping Post" and "Sunshine Of Your Love" -- a great reminder of how rock (and jazz) oriented his bluegrass music is.
Who would have thought that a club named Phil McKracken's wouldn't stand the test of time? It has apparently been wiped off the face of the planet as off the end of the spring, as google doesn't yield much information about a place that, when I first discovered this show, seemed like a promising outpost for quality music in the burbs.
