I'm a big fan of Andrew Bird but don't think there's enough about him on the site, especially since he's homegrown Chicago talent.
I stumbled upon this recording of his opening set for Wilco at the Kane County Cougars Ballpark this past summer and think it's a great live complement to his recently released Hands Of Glory LP and a nice preview to his three upcoming Chicago gigs.
You'll hear both his signature whistling and violin, along with plenty of his beautiful, haunting melodies throughout this compact but powerful set.
