Time For Livin': JC Brooks, The Right Now Among Acts To Pay Tribute To MCA / Beastie Boys @ Lincoln Hall 7/2/12

We're still not over the loss of Adam Yauch, but Lincoln Hall and a smattering of Chicago's coolest bands are doing their part to help the healing process, paying tribute to MCA's legacy and furthering his humanitarian mission in the process.

One Monday, July 2nd, Lincoln Hall will host Time For Livin', a one-of-a-kind multi-media event, featuring clips from Yauch's  film ouvre, fundraising and many live performances of Beastie Boys material from across their career.

The genre defying (and mashing) group of artists includes members of  Barn favorites like The Right Now, JC Brooks & The Uptown Sound, Bumpus and DJRC.  In fact, the event is being organized by Ben Taylor and James Johnston, college friends who reconnected in Chicago as part of the city's energetic funk,  jazz and soul scene (Taylor supplies bass for the Uptown Sound, Johnston leads the extremely funky Bumpus).

Other acts scheduled to appear include:

Scotland Yard Gospel Choir
The Drastics
Akasha
Abstract Giants
Clip Art
Marvin Tate's D-Settlement
Any Kind
Gunnelpumpers

with the promise of more to be announced!  Tickets are $10 and the show is scheduled to kick off at 8:00 pm.
