Late-Night Roundup | Sufjan Stevens, Jason Isbell, Chris Stapleton & Lumineers

Watch some of Tomorrow’s Verse’s favorite artists hit the promotional late-night television circuit.

Sufjan Stevens, Nico Muhly, Bryce Dessner & James McAlister on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert”

Sufjan Stevens teamed up with The National’s Bryce Dessner, composer Nico Muhly and drummer James McAlister for a new, interstellar album Planetarium. The artists gave fans a taste of how the songs would sound live with this trippy performance of “Mercury.”

Jason Isbell on “Charlie Rose”

Though Jason Isbell has been hitting the late-night circuit hard in promotion of his excellent recent album, The Nashville Sound, this performance marks the first solo performance of these. “Last Of My Kind” is a heart-aching, beautiful country ballad that truly excels in this delicate performance. Watch an interview with Isbell as well.

Chris Stapleton on the Today summer concert series

Though it may not be a late-night performance, necessarily, Chris Stapleton’s fiery performances on Today earn him a spot on this list. Watch the outlaw country singer burn through a rocking rendition of “Second One To Know” in addition to “Tennessee Whiskey.”

Lumineers cover Tom Petty on “Late Night With Seth Myers”

The Lumineers performed two songs on late-night television last week. Though the performance of “Angela” from their recent album, Cleopatra, is more than sufficient, it’s their cover of Tom Petty’s “Walls” that was of true note.
