If it's springtime that means it must be Jeff Tweedy time in Chicago.
This year's show come on the heels of the announcement that the Wilco front-man will release a solo acoustic album, and come sandwiched around Record Store Day for good measure.
But the solo arrangements are only half the bargain when you check out Mr. Tweedy at one of these shows -- with plenty of whimsical interaction with the crowd, there may be a few chuckles as well.
Here's a shot of him pausing Saturday night's show to text his wife. Oh, she was in the building, but this was "easier than shouting up to the balcony".
While the entry prices were steep, proceeds whent to benefit education as in past years.
And as is tradition, those who lined up first were treated to their requests. Here's a shot of the stage setlist for Saturday's show, with the requestor's names.
For a little more of what it's all about, check out the videos by Vanessa Bernal. The banter at the end of "California Stars" is classic, funny and also a little political, which has been a subject of many of Jeff's on-stage rants these days.
