Expect a mix of the familiar with some out-of-leftfield choices for supporting artists at the 2012 installment of Blottopia.
Bluegrass is keyword for daytime portion of the festival. As previously reported, Grateful String Band will provide Saturday entertainment, and they will be joined by the exciting Chicago jamgrass band Leadfoot and more traditional bluegrassers Dirty River Ramblers.
On the funk and jam side, Colorado's Smooth Money Gesture is an intriguing, yet relatively unknown, choice that describes itself as "infectious groove funk with ear twitching space jams, face melting solos and tight rhythmic changes." Meanwhile a band called Lovers Of The Sea will play something they call "cruise ship music", whatever that is, but cite influences such as Buster Poindexter, Kool and the Gang, Canned Heat, Earth Wind and Fire, and Gloria Esteban. Oh boy.
The equally mysterious Mag 7 Band will also perform.
