Another Chicago related post as Pink Floyd Week resumes after a day off.
We step into the time machine and emerge in 1972 at Chicago's impressive Auditorium Theater. This "liberated bootleg" has circulated in many forms for many years and for my money, this is the best sounding copy out there. Working out the material that would become Dark Side Of The Moon in the first set and punctuating that with some of the (at the time) recent catalog songs in the second, this is a nice classic performance to complement the greatest hits-style eighties performance featured previously.
The music goes in lot of different spaces and the creator of this boot takes some interesting liberties in naming some of the tracks, including the instrumental jams in between some of the known songs ("The Traveler's Sequence", "The Mortality Sequence") and the embryonic "Great Gig In The Sky" (aka "Dave's Scat Section").
Another great moment in Chicago music history.
