Chicago indie-folk trio The Papers haven’t been around for long, but are off to a unique and creative start.
The Papers recently launched a Kickstarter asking not for money, but for user-submitted videos of bike rides in towns around the world for a project dubbed The Paper Trail. Once submission is completed, the band intends to create an interactive video featuring 100 of the bike clips paired with their music. Contributors will receive music and a gift package in exchange for their footage.
The band’s music is delicate, acoustic indie, relying on coed harmonies and simple folk structures. Though the genre’s nothing new, the project’s idea is ambitious and inspired.
