An unusual reunion occurred at Clive Davis’s annual pre-Grammys gala on Sunday night as the surviving members of Nirvana were joined by Beck for a performance of David Bowie’s “The Man Who Sold The World.”
Dave Grohl, Krist Novoselic and Pat Smear performed a fairly straightforward version of the track, musically, while Beck’s vocals take the spotlight, eventually leading to a ghostly outro.
Nirvana famously performed the track on MTV Unplugged, while Beck has always been vocal about his admiration of Bowie, having covered “Diamond Dogs” over a decade ago.
