1977 would turn out to be a landmark year for the Grateful Dead, but Jerry Garcia started the year gigging with Keith and Donna, John Kahn and Ron Tutt with the Garcia Band in the months before the Dead's epic Spring Tour.
In fact, JGB hit UC Santa Barbara just a few weeks before the Dead played their February 27th show on campus.
Remarkably, a digital version of the original poster from this event still survives along with complete audio of both the early and late shows from this date.
YouTuber nognuisagoodgnu has uploaded audio of this gig.
