Jazz is crashing headlong to Chicago's City Winery with two big shows that celebrate the great American genre's past and future.
The great Preservation Hall Jazz Band hearkens to the sound's New Orleans roots. Chicago mainstay DJRC will bring his "Funk Of New Orleans" revue to open two nights of the legendary band's performance on June 24th and 25th.
Looking back at drummer Ginger Baker's career with Cream and Blind Faith, you might not think he'd end up as the leader of a fusion quartet... but then again maybe you would. Ginger Baker's Jazz Confusion continues his storied tradition of adventure and sonic exploration. They will hit the Winery for two shows the night of June 23rd.
The Barn is giving away some tickets to each of these shows to a few lucky readers.
