Hooray for Chicago. The day after Greensky Bluegrass wowed the Park West crowd with their rock/bluegrass hybrid, and at the same time that Chicago Bluegrass and Blues showcased a range of Americana at the Congress across town, Railroad Earth was at the House Of Blues, serving up another fusiony take on roots music as well. These sets feature a fine cross-section of what RE is capable of: fierce bluegrass picking, celtic melodies, soaring vocals, standout improvisation and a crowd-pleasing, roof-raising, show-closing take The Doors' "Roadhouse Blues".
