The Goose Island 312 Urban Block Party announced its music lineup for 2016. For us at Tomorrow's Verse, Saturday looks to be a real doozy.
The festival, which takes place September 23 and 24 at the Goose Island’s Fulton Street Brewery in West Town, costs $10, with tickets only available the day of the show.
That ten bucks is a donation to your choice of five local charties. As Goose Island says, "charity rules".
Even better, the brewery is being charitable to fans. All beers will be $3! Of course, sizes will vary, but ever heard of a Chicago festival like that?
Friday, September 23 features an eclectic lineup, with a headlining spot from punk band Against Me!, energetic indie-rockers Low Cut Connie, garage-rock band Beach Slang and reggae outfit The Aggrolites.
Saturday, September 24 will feature the folk-rock of Dawes as a headliner, psych-rockers White Denim, with indie-pop group Jr. Jr. (previously Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr.) and rising locals Whitney prior.
A special "Locals Only" stage will also be featured each day. We recommend the reggae of Akasha on Friday.
The festival is known for featuring both rare and signature beers from Goose Island, as well as local food vendors.
