Jazz Underground Gets Whacked Out

This installment of Notes From The Jazz Underground features the playlist based on the October 25th show.

We're falling a bit behind here on recapping these playlists, this one was the last show before Halloween, so it kicked off with a jazz version of "Thriller" by organist Joey DeFrancesco.

Fun fact.  Did you know the Page McConnell led supergroup, Vida Blue, have no tracks available on Spotify?  It's true!

The rest of the list gets pretty whacked out.  Bollywood.  Thievery Corp.  Tricky.  Bad-ass guitarist Wayne Krantz.  As usual, really pushing the limits of what qualifies as jazz. The Stan Getz tune is really happening. The band is essentially Return to Forever with Getz playing sax instead of Joe Farrell.

Notes From The Jazz Underground runs Friday nights on WDCB 90.9 FM.
