Americana Music Fest – July 14 @ Acorn Theater, Three Oaks Michigan

Headliners To Watch

Chicago Farmer – A staple of the central Illinois and Midwestern folk and Americana scene, Chicago Farmer has remained prolific for more than a decade, gaining a large following through constant touring and frequent collaborations. He will perform a rare, full-band show to headline Americana Music Fest, which is a big draw to Three Oaks already.

The Undercards

Ryan Joseph Anderson – Chicago songwriter Ryan Joseph Anderson is known for his raucous live performances and stellar songwriting, evoking a number of folk and rock influences and making him a perfect fit for this festival.

The Blisters – Featuring Spencer Tweedy, son of Wilco frontman Jeff Tweedy, on drums, The Blisters have been together for most of their lifetime, and are finally gaining momentum as a band to see. Expect a rocking, no frills set from these kids.

Monte Pride & Vanessa Gerber – These two Michigan singer-songwriters will pair up to open the show, with both lending unique talents to a set that promises a powerful and soulful result.

You Need To Know

Though outside of Chicago, Three Oaks, Michigan is roughly an hour due east of the city, making for an easy trip out of the city. General admission tickets are $25, with a VIP option available for $50, which includes a Meet & Greet as well as a poster. Music will begin at 6:30.

The Bottom Line

Being the first year for the festival, promoter Harmonica Dunn seems to have the right idea, bringing four powerful but diverse acts to an intimate 200-capacity theater in a gorgeous small town. An opportunity to get out of the city and enjoy some great Americana music for an extremely reasonable price, the festival is certainly on our radar.
