For those fortunate enough to have caught of one of Phil Lesh's retrospective shows celebrating a year in the life of the Grateful Dead at Terrapin Crossroads, you were treated to a freewheeling one-on-one interview with Lesh prior to the show.
That interview was conducted by noted rock photographer Jay Blakesberg, and he seeks to bring some of the same energy, humor and storytelling to a pair of events this fall called Chasing The Light.
Through discussion and his always engaging images, Blakesberg will present audiences with a spin through his life behind the camera -- starting as teenage Deadhead with a camera hoping to collect souveneirs and spanning decades of shooting not only the Dead and jamband world, but towering legends of rock and pop music.
"I have felt for a long time that what I am doing is visual anthropology, and I truly believe that this is a unique tribe whose story is an important part of pop culture history," says Blakesberg.
The show hits the road at two locations in the Northeast this fall. More details below -- and lets hope he continues to bring this show on the road.
